The trend clearly indicates that in a few decades traditional motoring will disappear forever internal combustion drive will replace hydrogen cells and electric motors. The automotive industry already offers a wide range of products “electricians”. Even the most trendy ones follow the trend luxury brands. They have already announced their models with electric drive Rolls-Royce and Bentley. He also took advantage of the change window Cadillac, which will launch its own luxury electric car.

The atmosphere in the royal court suddenly seemed to thicken. Bentley and Rolls-Royce, who have so far reigned supreme over the luxury car market, may be forced to make room for a new player. The brand, prestige and technology have so far meant that no one has been able to threaten them. However, there is an electric revolution taking place in the industry, which creates an opportunity to break into a niche and offer customers a similar product with comparable or better performance and a fashionable drive.

Cadillac Celestiq. The American brand intends to disrupt the luxury car segment

American car manufacturer Cadillac will soon deliver its luxury electric car to the first customers – Cadillac Celestiq. According to the latest available data, the company has already managed to contract 600 to 750 units this model. Celestiq will compete with models from Rolls-Royce and Benley. According to preliminary estimates, luxurious the electric car will be available for purchase $340,000. The price is between two Rolls-Royce models – Rolls-Royce Ghost behind $180,000 and Rolls Royce Spectre behind $420,000. The Cadillac Celestiq, on the other hand, will be much more expensive than the electric car Benley, which will cost approx. $274,000.

The Cadillac Celestiq will be assembled by hand. The company plans to produce approximately 2 cars a day, although – as already announced – not on all days. This will realistically be the case between 400 and 500 pieces per year.

Cadillac Celestiq vs Rolls-Royce Specter. The American throws down the gauntlet to the British

Celestiq is equipped with a rechargeable battery 111 kWh and two powerful electric motors 600 HP. With such an “engine” Cadillac is able to accelerate to 100 km/h 3.8 seconds and with a good range of about 300 miles ( over 482 km ). The Caddy will be equipped with four-wheel drive and the All Wheel Steering (AWS) system. For comparison, Rolls-Royce’s dark horse – the model Specter is equipped with a battery 102 kWh, two powerful electric motors 584 HP. Its maximum range on a single charge is 260 miles ( over 418 km ), and it accelerates to a hundred 4.4 seconds.

Taking into account the technical specifications, the preliminary winner of the duel seems to be Celestiq. Among luxury brands, however, performance is less often decisive, and more often brand prestige – in this aspect it remains the clear favorite Rolls-Royce.
