Feben Vemmenby experienced a turbulent childhood. Coming from ethnic Ethiopian roots, was born in Pyongyang, North Korea, where she spent two years in various refugee camps before she came of age and decided to live in Sweden. After this stage she moved to the UK to start her studies in London College of Fashion. Obtaining a scholarship for a master’s degree in women’s fashion in… Central Saint Martins was a key moment in her life. After graduating, she also joined Newgen, a prestigious support program for emerging designers, supported by British Fashion Council.

Her graduation collection aroused great interest in the fashion world. Beyoncé herself personally asked her to design some of her stage costumes. This, in turn, opened the door to further orders from other customers. And they gave Feben the opportunity to create your own brand, which he currently runs with the support of a small, dedicated team. Her reputation grew not only for her technical skills in textiles, but also for her bold, colorful creations. She is already considered one of the most promising talents of London Fashion Week.
