Chanel Culture Fund introduces a new award

The Chanel Culture Fund has just announced the ten lucky recipients of the prestigious Chanel Next Prize. This award recognizes emerging talents in the international world of art and culture. The second edition of the prize not only brings recognition but also provides tangible financial support for the winners, who will each receive €100,000. This amount will not only allow them to continue their creative journey but also enable them to realize their most ambitious artistic projects.
Winners will also have access to a two-year mentoring and networking program led by Chanel’s cultural partners, including the renowned Royal College of Art in London. This invaluable support will foster talent development and increase the chances of success in the dynamic world of art. Chanel Next Prize is not just an award – it’s a manifestation of the brand’s commitment to promoting and supporting young talent. It’s a unique opportunity for artists to grow and pursue their dreams. And for Chanel, it’s a chance to help shape a new era in the world of art and culture.
The Chanel Culture Fund as a form of artistic patronage
The Chanel brand continues its mission to promote and support artists who boldly redefine their fields of art and culture. The Chanel Next Prize winners come from six different countries: the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Brazil, Singapore, and Georgia. Their work spans a variety of disciplines, including visual art, film, dance, video game design, performance, opera, and digital art.
The Chanel Next Prize was established in 2021 as part of a global initiative called the Chanel Culture Fund. Its aim was to accelerate the development of ideas that enrich culture, continuing the fashion house’s long tradition of patronage.
The jury panel included renowned figures such as Tilda Swinton, Cao Fei, as well as curators Legacy Russell and Hans Ulrich Obrist. Among the winners are outstanding talents like: Tolia Astakhishvili, Kantemir Balagov, Oona Doherty, Sam Eng, and Ho Tzu Nyen, as well as Fox Maxy, Camae Ayewa known as Moor Mother, Dalton Paula, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, and Davóne Tines. Each of them represents not only exceptional talent but also the diversity within the art world, which is a fundamental part of Chanel’s legacy.
