Nowadays, however, their quality has greatly increased, and newer types and brands of 0% spirits are being introduced to the market. It uses fourteen different plant extracts, such as cayenne pepper, black currant leaves, kaffir, chamomile, verbena, bay leaf, apple and hibiscus, sourced locally, to create its version of non-alcoholic whiskey.

The process of producing non-alcoholic whiskey usually involves similar steps. These are sequentially distilling the ingredients, maturing in oak barrels and extracting the characteristic flavor and aroma. Careful production ensures that the products retain the flavor and experience associated with traditional whiskey.

There are many non-alcoholic whiskies on the market, and their quality is increasing. Some distilleries are even producing 0% amber liquor in luxury quality. The most popular, and also available in bars, are the aforementioned Wissin, Lyre’s American Malt, Lyre’s Highland Malt, Rotten Barreled Oak and many others.

Wissin is light and sweet, but already American products have a bit more refined taste.

Flavor notes, such as the rich aroma of vanilla and roasted nuts, are characteristic of bourbon. They add depth and sweetness to the drink. Herbal accents give it a unique character, combining traditional flavors with modern tastes.

A smooth and long finish means that the flavor of this non-alcoholic bourbon stays in the mouth for a longer period of time, allowing for a full tasting experience. The slightly spicy flavor adds some spiciness, which is characteristic of bourbon. Swedish Nits, meanwhile, has an intriguing smoky aroma.
