Provençal style cabinet – my personal inspiration

Today a little bit about interior furnishings, or rather our rooms where we work. Everyone is designing modern and innovative, forgetting the charming tradition of furniture making. Cabinet in Provençal style is quite a piece of work by the Interiors Italia brand. But from the beginning….
Once upon a time, people lived a very simple, coarse and traditionalist life. There were no interior finishing materials like today. And craftsmanship was supremely genuine and fascinating in its simplicity.
They used raw materials that were ascetic and at the same time damn expressive. What cannot be said of today’s mass production. Untouched by design templates, manufactories operated on the strength of artisans.
It was they who were ultimately responsible for all the thought and bringing the goods to the final stage, not the machinery. And for this Luxury Products loves today’s family-owned manufactures, which have not resisted the temptation of ” mass production ”.
Provençal style cabinet – who does it?
I’ve seen Provençal furniture made in a factory, typically made on a tape from finished pieces. And I’ll be honest, it doesn’t quite mesh with premium products for me. Ok, it looks pretty good, the prices are also affordable, but a Provençal-style cabinet without shabbiness, simplicity and quite raw material is like a scout without finki….
Imagine a small town in Italy called Citta di Castello. Located in Renaissance Umbria, it plays an important role in the history of this amazing country. It’s where Pope Celestine II or Monica Belluci came from.
It is here, in an old, traditional and Renaissance atmosphere, that the Interiors Italia brand creates beautiful furniture from scratch. Provençal style cabinet is one of their wide range of products.
Invariably, since 1964, this Italian manufactory has adhered strictly to ancient craftsmanship recipes so as to replicate Provençal furniture. What more could you want when you want an effect close to the bygone times?
Provençal-style cabinet – what finishes does the manufacturer offer?
The Interiors Italia brand has several final-stage standards in addition to old furniture waxing techniques.
Antiqua – shade finish essences, aged or not on cherry, walnut or chestnut colors.
Arles – single color lacquered finish with oak on cherry base
Provence – tinted paint with brush on gypsum base, aged
Decorata – brush-colored on gypsum base with handmade decorations, aged
Technique Old simplicity – colored with brush on gypsum base, aged with different shades
So, as you can see for yourselves, not ” not strength, but technique will make you a fighter ”. It is the manual final finishing that is all the mysticism and painstaking effort that finally gives you what you see in the pictures.
Factory-finished products, unfortunately, can not be subjected to such processing, which is why manufactures are so different from conveyor belts and so-called ” finished products ”….Which also affects the price of this luxury furniture.
Not to mention that such a Provençal-style cabinet takes much longer to create than mass production. So anyone who wants to have a piece of Provence at home must be patient.
The manufacturer is also extremely conscious, so it uses wood as the main raw material. It is mainly an old fir tree. Because, old trees consume less carbon dioxide, therefore, they are replaced by a young stand of trees.
Custom production is possible. Because the offer is fully customizable in terms of colors, dimensions, materials and patinas.
Cabinet in Provençal style – what furniture to choose?
Manufaktura Interiors Italia has a wide selection of furniture. Luxurious Provençal closets, elegant sideboards, raw cabinets, stained glass windows, magnificent beds for bedrooms and tables for exceptional dining rooms.
But we’re mainly interested in a Provençal-style study today, so I’ll tell you about it. The focal point in any study is a desk with an armchair. The brand offers two solutions here.
Stylish desk model PR620 with 6 drawers, from the collection Maison De Provence ( length 150 cm ). And also a second desk from the Atelier Des Meubles collection – model PR621 with 3 drawers ( width 160 cm ).
Significantly different, while both maintain and Decide on the style of Provence in your office.
The chairs, or armchairs, are traditional, on four legs clearly aligned with the desks.
And is there room for a Provençal bookcase?
Ok, our Provençal-style cabinet already has desks, it’s the turn of the bookcase. Well, here I must say the manufacturer did a good job, by the way, judge for yourselves. The first of the libraries, model PR318 is a 2.5 meter long amazing Provençal work.
Six large key-opening cabinets, 4 drawers and plenty of shelves are a good investment for our trinkets and books! It is 260 cm wide and 45 cm deep. As for me, this is the brightest and most Provençal furniture in this cabinet!
The next library is of the same height of 250 cm, while it is slightly smaller – 213 cm long by 43 cm deep. The furniture has a ladder, thanks to which we can freely choose books from the upper shelves, without much effort.
This Provençal library has 4 lockable cabinets and plenty of open shelves – model PR314. Personally, the previous one was more to my liking:)
If any of you have less space, I suggest a freestanding bookcase with dimensions of H 225 cm x W 120 cm and depth of 45 cm. This is a good choice if you have a smaller room. Model PR301 has 2 lockable cabinets and 4 open shelves for your books!
The second of the freestanding bookcases is a bit unusual, as it has between the lower and upper shelves 3 neat drawers. Its dimensions are H 200 cm x W 140 cm and depth 43 cm. This is the model – PR317.
And this is my compilation. Of course, the manufactory has many other pieces of furniture with which we can furnish the office – such as sideboards, stained glass, mirrors and commodes – just what for? I assume it was supposed to be provence, simplicity and space.
That’s why I don’t clutter your place in my idea, Provençal style must have something to breathe and that’s what you should stick to.

Cabinet in Provençal style – accessories and trinkets
For all the magic of a Provençal cabinet, details and details are important. Aged wooden floors, heavy stone tiles or rough old board – this is what the design should go up from.
If you want to create a piece of Provence on the panels, give it a go. On special requests of customers, we search for old tiles, from centuries past to faithfully recreate that atmosphere.
And believe me, everything can be arranged. From France, our partners can arrange anything, even a very old piece of equipment. And it’s important to feel the nose and soul of good old Provence….
Don’t have books for the library, no problem. We have more than a dozen global brands that make imitation leather books. You don’t want imitations, we will make old books for you. No problemo!
Many of our customers order leather binders in the shape of an old book, because it is convenient and incredibly functional.
The trinkets must also not be factory-made, but typically crafted from materials such as tin, wood or iron. And here, too, we will furnish your Provençal-style cabinet with such wonders without the slightest problem.
I won’t elaborate on them today, because that’s a separate chapter, for the next article on office equipment.
Cabinet in Provençal style – what do you need to know?
You just need to know what you want and desire. When you are faced with a choice between a template and a real premium product be aware. I hope I’ve made you at least a little bit more aware of what to look out for.
This is important, because today many manufacturers pretend and identify themselves with super premium goods. And in the end it turns out to be poor trash and imitation of what you wanted to have. Provençal furniture needs warmth and feeling, so not everyone can create it.
The principles behind the treatment and waxing have been unchanged for years, and Interiors Italia strives to continue them – and this is the essence of a high-quality product.
