Arnstadt Kristall brand crystal tableware – a little history

After World War II, Heinrich Arlt is transferred from the Czech Republic, to the city of Arnstad in Germany. It is there that he develops his incredible Czech glass cutting and engraving skills.Over the years, the family-owned small company is transformed into a medium-sized factory. Production of decorative and utility glass, is replaced step by step by lead crystal.The first export destinations were Italy, the Usa and Canada. After 1970, during the GDR era, the company is nationalized, as a result of which its future development remained in the hands of the government and central planning.

During this time, Arnstadt gets numerous awards and prizes. At the time of German reunification, the company is again privatized and functions as Arnstadt Kristall GmbH.”Today it is a world-class factory that exports its products to 50 countries. All according to strict standards that have been its strength for decades.

Crystal tableware – materials and workmanship

The crystal is characterized by lead oxide interference. Unusual optical properties include a higher refractive index having a characteristic brilliance and is probably prettier even than diamonds.All products, are made by hand. And the crystal itself is blown and cut, with a lead content of 24%.This technique, is reserved only for the best players in the market, so not everyone can produce elegant crystals this way.

Colors and shapes are a matter of taste, see the products I chose. Of all the collections, it is Rococo that is the most table-like and luxurious. Massive and heavy, it gives the impression of being armored, while on the other hand the indentations of the engraving give a feeling of lightness.The Rococo collection is crystal tableware gilded with 24 karat gold, which gives it an undeniably beautiful effect.The lineup includes an unearthly dessert plate with a diameter of 20 cm, followed by a crystal dinner plate of 25 cm and 33 cm.Crystal fruit bowl has a diameter of 13 cm, while the salad bowl comes in a choice of two sizes 21 and 24 cm.

Two-tier gold-plated platter made of crystal, from this collection is already a real work of functional art – its diameter is 32 cm. It will surely hold all the delicacies on your table!2 crystal fruit cups, they look like from a movie, or a fairy tale. They are really unique. Their diameters are 17 and 20 cm, it seems that suitable for the size of candies:)The vases into which you can put fresh flowers come in several sizes, including 30 and 34 cm. Believe it – they are impressive!

Of course, there must be no shortage of products for beverages and water. Here we have a 1.5 liter and very exclusive jug on the water. Only here you can see the craftsmanship and precision of the engraver. Great and high German quality!There are a few more smaller or larger dishes, of which crystal tableware consists. Me, I would like to draw attention here to liquor dishes.Glasses for whiskey, wine are pure poetry. The decanter by itself, can be the star on the table, just fill it with good alcohol and go!
