I invite you to read an interview with the artist and painter Agnieszka Osak. An incredible person with a big heart and eyes that see art in a way we cannot. I am truly captivated by her paintings, so I encourage you to read this interview with this remarkable woman!

Where does your passion for art come from?

A passion for art is, in other words, a talent that has revealed itself most strongly among many others. A kind of attraction. Artistic activities, creating, building have always been my here and now. My space. Creativity manifested itself in many forms—not always as drawing or painting. It was decorating every space I lived in, building and gluing models for tiny figurines, designing elaborate costumes, arranging the garden, and so on. It’s a strong need to be with myself and to focus on what I’m doing. When I create, I’m in my own world. Creating is my nature—something I understood after many years, something I nurture at every step and allow to grow.

Sculpture, photography, set design, and painting—which of these plays the most important role in your work?

All forms of creation are close to my heart. I have created in each of these fields, in stories. Painting was always present, though somewhat in the background. It patiently waited for its moment. Yet it is through painting that I feel free and can fully express myself. I had to taste the different flavors of creation until painting finally came into the light and became the most important.

Is it possible to make a good living from creating art in Poland?

I believe it’s possible to make a good living from creating art. There are many factors involved. And you need to experiment a bit to meet several internal and external conditions.

A favorite and respected artist, not necessarily a painter?

Peter Gric—an artist, painter, and an exceptionally beautiful, intriguing, and fascinating personality, soul, and intellect. Observing, discovering, and sharing insights about life and painting together is one of my most cherished experiences.

What art movement do your paintings represent?

My painting, my style… it’s a unique direction, a kind of free style.

For many years, I tried to force myself to choose a certain style, a direction. First to create it, name it, continue it, and attach that label. And I know that’s how it works in this world, where everything has to be named, described, put into a box. I really wanted to be recognizable for a particular style. Yet something inside me deeply resisted it.

It was an anchor that held me firmly, keeping me from drifting further. Yet my adventure-hungry heart, like a strong wind, pushes me forward. To new lands, new adventures, new discoveries. It’s a kind of art of exploration. I chose the path of constant growth in my painting, experimenting with colors, searching for new combinations, textures, techniques, and compositions. That’s where all the beauty and fun lies. Each time, I wait with fresh curiosity to see the final result of the next painting and where it will lead me next.

The three most important events that inspired you as an author?

All the events that inspire me come from my inner world.

These are transformations on various levels or the crossing of successive thresholds in self-discovery. I don’t recall ever being inspired by external events in my creative process. For example, the painting “Kosmiczny Wizjer I” 2016 (“Space ViewFinder I”) was created during a period when I consciously decided to look within myself. This was accompanied by immense fear, but also strong determination. There were also quite intense internal mechanisms at play, though it’s hard to describe them in just a few sentences. The result was a beautiful painting, very important to me. Despite the intense, vibrant colors, there is also a certain kind of chaos present—everything swirls, falls apart, and mixes together, yet the viewfinder calmly waits and invites you to look inside. To gaze into the cosmic depths, which are as beautiful as they are terrifying.

Your paintings feature fresh and vibrant colors, contrasted with deep, dark backgrounds. Is this intentional, a way to break certain conventions?

I have no assumptions. All the color combinations in my paintings reflect what is happening, dancing, or unfolding within me at a given moment. Long ago, my works were very dark, almost gloomy. There was a lack of color. They appeared gradually. The more joy, peace, and quiet I experienced, the more harmonious colors emerged. The closer I am to nature, the more natural the colors become. Strong contrasts and vivid hues represent emotions that, at that point in my life, were at the forefront, along with a powerful need to express them.

What do you want to stand out for?

Right now, I’m enjoying watching what life wants to create through me, together with me. How it wants to express itself. I’m already ready to cooperate and stay open. How do I want to stand out? By being myself and creating beauty.

What does childhood mean to me?

I smile at this question, but I’m not quite sure how to answer. It was a nice time, though it had its shadows too. That period feels very distant to me now. I don’t really revisit my childhood in my thoughts. When I see that little girl who was always creating something, gluing, painting, building, drawing, sewing, decorating… it warms my heart. I had so many ideas. I was never bored with myself. I’m glad that hasn’t changed to this day.

Where am I heading with my creative work?

In my work, I strive to create beautiful images that are a feast for the eyes and soul—both mine and others’. I venture where I have not yet been, and I am curious about this journey.

The most pivotal moment in my career

The moment in my life when I realized that creating is my true nature and I stopped fighting it. When I understood and felt how beautiful and essential this part of my existence truly is.

Where do I want to be in 5, 10, 15 years?

At this stage of my life, I no longer make plans for what my life will look like in 5, 10, or 15 years. My intention is simply to live as beautifully as possible on this planet. We’ll live and see.

Who are my paintings dedicated to?

The paintings I create are dedicated to everyone. They are painted in a universal language. Painted with Soul, Heart, and Mind. Painted to discover and feel beauty. Painted for moments of silence, peace, joy, and love. Painted to spend time with oneself, for oneself. Painted for those who wish to reach for it.

In which interiors and styles will my works fit best?

They will look great in a variety of interiors—these are artworks with Soul, so they will beautifully complement any space with Soul.

Minimalism or glamour?

I enjoy spending time in minimally designed spaces. Calm, clean, peaceful, naturally arranged, with a touch of class. High-quality minimalism.

Luxury for me is?

Luxury, to me, is silence, freedom, being surrounded by beautiful people, places, and objects. Luxury is allowing yourself to be who you are and being aware of your choices. Luxury is indulging yourself. Luxury is a fulfilled life.

Thank you so much for the interview, welcome to the premium world of. We look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration.
