However, the latter also have a price, and it can go very high. The list of the world’s most expensive dogs usually changes slightly, and the same breeds are almost constantly on the podium. One who would be interested in the top three must prepare to spend up to tens of thousands of zlotys!

In 2015, the media circulated information about the purchase of an 11-month-old red Tibetan mastiff for the equivalent of about 7.5 million zlotys. The dog, which was named Hong Dong, was bought by a Chinese millionaire at one of the auctions, thus setting a new world record when it comes to the price for a dog.

In addition, this breed is considered prestigious in China and only the rich can afford it, which does not mean that if you have the money, you can just buy one. For the price is due not only to the requirements that these dogs present, but also to the beliefs of the Chinese. According to them, each red Tibetan mastiff is inhabited by the soul of a deceased monk or nun, and the red of their coat symbolizes prosperity and wealth, as it is the color of good luck in China. Although times have changed and hardly anyone would need a dog for such tasks anymore, the breed itself has not changed much. What this means in practice is that one who likes to sit on the couch after work should definitely not opt for this type of dog.

Samoyeds need a lot of exercise and a lot of care – without this they can do a lot of harm to themselves and their surroundings, not to mention the fact that they love to dig, so if let off the hook for a long while they can do some really big damage in the garden. In addition, although small in size, English bulldogs are very difficult to breed and moody, so training them will require a lot of patience. In Poland, its price starts at 4 thousand zlotys, although foreign breeders set a minimum price of $2,500. Here again we are dealing with a dog that will take care of the owner’s condition. With a dog that likes to hunt and – as the only breed in the world – can blush. Yes, when a Pharaoh’s dog is excited, its muzzle and ears turn pink.

Each of these breeds has its own requirements and maintenance costs. Some people hire “dog trainers” who take care not only of training, but also take care of the proper diet and level of physical activity. This is a good solution for people who want a dog, but at the same time are very reluctant to divide their time between work and other activities, where the dog is an addition rather than the main member of the family.

On the other hand, getting even a low-activity dog can turn our lives upside down – in a positive sense. More than one study has shown that when surrounded by animals, we become calmer, handle stress more easily, make friends more easily and are more willing to stay at home.

As you can see, the world’s most expensive dogs do not have to be so expensive again, but, as we mentioned above, their final price depends on many factors. However, it is worth remembering that each of the mentioned dogs, after proper training and with good conditions, will certainly become an indispensable companion for leisure time.
