I looked all over the world for inspiration, finding the right brands for our portfolio. And that’s how I met the English company Byron & Byron, which produces apartment curtain rods. Something that caught my attention and did not allow me to focus, for the next few days.

These are completely different and very luxurious products that I love passionately! England, by the way, is the cradle of decent craftsmanship, hard work of human hands and thousands of factories, where even today you can still find real gems.

I give you one piece of advice, do not look for style on mass sites, and even less so in hyper and super markets. There it is massiveness to the highest possible power. The vitriol that comes off the shelves, like an ugly Chucky doll….

I’m walking through a big-box store, lawnmowers to the left, sandpaper to the right and in between them curtain rods like garden gnomes that once flooded us like the Swedish flood….

Sad, ubiquitous and bland produced in large quantities do not quite impress me. They act like a flea on a bull. It is fatal to see machine-made apartment curtain rods, but there is no way out, I decided to find something else, anyway, as usual. In opposition, far from banality and blandness.With a cynical smile, I quickly found something to boost my morale and was proud of myself.

I was relieved to know that I could offer my customers something different from the carnage. Something that I won’t be ashamed of and will be satisfied to show for real lovers of good design. Ok, but from the beginning what is my new brand?

London in the 1980s is a mine of unheard-of inspiration, which is why the place and time are so important! Young Orazio Gualtieri is passionate about traditional craftsmanship and wanted to make a name for himself and show the world his knowledge of woodworking. Italians are known for their love of hellishly beautiful products, and this was also the case here. Orazio began his great passion by designing and manufacturing very classic apartment curtain rods, only to create more and more fancy goods over time.

It worked! It worked out like a flash, which shows the worldwide recognition of his products. Thanks to his extensive knowledge, Orazio was able to freely combine new techniques with old craftsmanship. And this is very important for this type of products. The owner has a knack for responding quickly to changes in the market interior design and fashion.

He entered more boldly into new designs, but especially materials and colors. According to some, highly daring. But that’s exactly the kind of people the world belongs to. First, wood, because it is the raw material closest to my heart. Natural – it has proven itself for hundreds of years. Byron knows this very well, which is why it is most of the collection is created precisely from high-quality natural wood. Applied paint, it looks impressive and blends well as two materials.

It seems that the English brand has a huge choice when it comes not only to design, but dimensions. That’s because it’s arcy important and crucial, with different rooms. Ok, how about we start with the diameter. A typical apartment curtain rod, is a cross-section starting from 19 to 25 mm. But I’d be more likely to say that in our latitude it’s something between 16 and 19 mm. Well it looks like a thin snake on the ceiling, if you know what I mean.

Byron & Byron manufactures its cachet in 35, 45 and 55 mm sizes. Which gives a final head start with thin Bolks. I don’t want to criticize, but my task is to convey what hanging such a missive on our ceiling can end up with. It doesn’t look very aesthetically pleasing, and I guess we all love aesthetics here, don’t we?

And this is really the key – the thickness of the curtain rod. This is where everything begins and ends. From this is the starting base for further work on the product, i.e. decorative finishes.

Length is a big choice – starting from 120, 150, 180, 210, 240, 300, 360 up to 480 cm. This is gratifying and shows how much attention the brand pays to fit for the customer. It is he who chooses and his interiors are of different sizes, the more he can choose something for himself.

It doesn’t have a price, because you won’t do it man in a big factory with a million other pieces lying around like sorted matches.
