Castle in Stobnica… estate! Will it be possible to live there?

Live in a castle like a prince? It seemed that this type of architecture is rather a relic now, and suburban and forest villas, or highly situated apartments in glass skyscrapers of city centers, have become synonymous with luxury. Interestingly, old-fashioned “castle-like” architecture, proximity to nature and the ability to observe the surroundings from on high are combined in… Stobnica Castle. The controversial investment in Greater Poland is expected to offer more than 40 residential units. So – with the right wallet – will it be possible to feel like a prince or princess?
The view from the highest chamber in Stobnica’s tallest tower must be magnificent. To enjoy it on a daily basis – instead of defeating a dragon or seducing the princess who lives there (or both) – it will probably be enough to just sufficient cash. A mysterious development in scenic Greater Poland is revealing more and more secrets to us.
From a 2020 article by Głos Wielkopolski, for example, we learn that the Stobnica Castle has as much as 15 storeys. The skeleton of the seemingly medieval building was divided – in addition to utility rooms, corridors, halls, etc. – into 46 residential units. The units are to be of various shapes and sizes. The entire castle will be able to accommodate approx. 97 residents, and the staff of the huge complex is expected to be only 10 people.

There has been much speculation surrounding the Stobnica River. Initially, it was claimed that it would be luxury hotel, but it can also be presumed that it is – in a sense. exclusive residential estate. Or maybe both? It is almost certain that one day we will visit this medieval mansion in a modern version from the inside. Whether it will be possible to live there, at least for a while, remains to be seen.
In 2023, a toll road was launched around the Stobnica Castle. Forest Educational Path, which allows you to admire the exterior facade of the building. On the days May 11 and 12, 2024 is scheduled to hold its first “Siege of Stobnica”. – a medieval-themed event.
For the moment, however, as we read on the Forest Educational Path website, there is no possibility to visit the castle inside. And it’s what’s hidden that we’re most curious about, after all.

The beautiful built environment makes the environment pay a price. To this day a battle continues in polish courts over the question of whether the castle should be built there at all. In the meantime, construction is going full steam ahead.
