Something that caught my eye and wouldn’t let me focus for days afterward.

These are completely different and truly luxurious products that I’m absolutely passionate about! England, after all, is the cradle of fine craftsmanship, hard manual labor, and thousands of factories where you can still find genuine gems to this day.

I’m walking through a big box store—lawn mowers to the left, sandpaper to the right, and in between, curtain rods lined up like garden gnomes that once flooded us like a Swedish deluge…

Taking a stand, steering clear of banality and mediocrity.

The young Orazio Gualtieri was a passionate devotee of traditional craftsmanship, eager to make his mark and share his expertise in woodworking with the world. Italians are renowned for their love of exquisitely beautiful products, and this was no exception. Orazio began his journey by designing and producing very classic apartment curtain rods, gradually moving on to create increasingly sophisticated pieces.

First, wood—because it’s the material closest to my heart. Natural, time-tested for centuries. Byron knows this well, which is why most of the collection is crafted from high-quality natural wood. When painted, it looks impressive and blends beautifully as two materials.

It seems that the English brand offers a huge selection not only in terms of design, but also dimensions. And that’s absolutely crucial when it comes to different rooms. Okay, let’s start with the diameter. A typical apartment curtain rod usually starts at 19 to 25 mm in diameter. But I’d say that, in our part of the world, it’s more like something between 16 and 19 mm. Well, it looks like a thin grass snake on the ceiling, if you know what I mean.

The fact that diameter matters is evident from the exclusive brands producing curtain rods worldwide. Small diameters are rarely seen—most are thick, sturdy, and impressively robust.

Byron & Byron crafts its gems in 35, 45, and 55 mm sizes. This instantly gives them an edge over the thin competitors right from the start. I’m not here to criticize, but my job is to show you what can happen if you hang such a flimsy piece on your ceiling.

This is my own alphabet of luxury, so different from what is mainstream and exceptionally mass-produced. I know these goods aren’t cheap. But they represent the culmination of craftsmanship, the stories of these people, and exceptional quality.

You can’t put a price on this, because you simply can’t do it in a giant factory with a million other pieces lined up like sorted matches.
